Dina Goldstein is a Vancouver photographer who had a very original idea about the fairy tale princesses: to surprise them living in the real world and confronting with everyday problems. The result was a very contrastant inadaptability and, of course, some very expressive photos:

Even if her first show is schedule for October at the city’s prestigious Buschlen Mowatt gallery in October, the cyberspace is already talking intensively about her art. Within minutes her Fallen Princess collection incited thousands of bloggers to flex their digits and worldwide journalists to request interviews. Even London’s vaunted newspaper, The Daily Telegraph (readership: a million), showcased the series on its culture gallery page.

Mostly positive reviews among the 43,000 direct Google hits, the most controversial image — an overweight Little Red Riding Hood seen eating junk food — has proved ammunition for a vociferous, raw and ongoing debate about society’s attitudes towards weight.
